Be Gracious

Greetings Fellow Americans,

Happy Sunday, May 18, 2014, “God bless America!”

Jonah 4:6 (NRSV). What are the complaints about from some groups in America when God gives the United States of America a President, the recognized leader of the free world, whose name translates as “Blessed.” The historical perception of African Americans generally, does not reflect leadership. Yet, a person cannot deny the structure of Administration in America is stronger due to the African American diligent efforts. As a matter-of-fact, which class of people has the bravado to display diligence in their attempts to develop an economy yet, receive disrespect and reassignment of their talents and gifts to other entities?

Since God kept His promise to America, can we as Americans, at least, uphold our responsibility to this beloved nation and, “Be Gracious” or at least, return God respect?

Alicia J_2014My response as an American citizen is 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NRSV) “If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

I choose this response since, I believe in God, The Word of God, and the right to “Prosper.” Or, as cited in the Declaration of Independence,

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
